Just a reminder that our field trip to the Paramount is on Wednesday. Those students who did not sign up for a school bag lunch that day, should be bringing their own lunch. We will be eating in our classroom before we leave to attend the play.
Students should have brought home their algebraic expression math test this week. We were going to beginning working on MCA math review, but the next unit is also very short, so we decided to move forward with one more unit before we review. This unit will focus on solving one and two step equations. This past week we worked on solving one step addition and subtraction equations. This coming week we will work on one step multiplication equations, and solving simple two step equations. We will review all equations we have worked on later in the week, and then we will test on Friday, May 12th.
Students have continued to work on researching their famous person. They are working on gathering as much information about their famous person as possible. Students have been sharing some of this exciting information with me during class. I am hoping that they are sharing some of it with you as well at home. We will discuss how to put this information into an outline on Tuesday for those who are ready for this step. All students should have their research and outline completed by April 23rd.
We tested on animal adaptations on Monday. Students should have brought home their test on Thursday to share with you. We are now working on Forces of Motion. This week we have discussed five types of motion, and the different types of forces, gravity, magnetism, and electricity. This coming week we will discuss and apply Newton’s three laws of motion, as well as begin our discussion on simple machines.
