In math this week we are continuing to learn about rates and ratios. We have been discussing multiplication tables and unit rates. We will be discussing equivalent ratios this week. On Thursday we will review all of the concepts from this chapter, and test on Friday, December 21st.
Students are very excited to be reading their Santa's Hat stories to Kindergarten students this week. We are working on editing the rough draft. The final copy is due on Tuesday, December 18th. We will practice reading them to classmates on Wednesday, December 19th. We will then read them to Kindergarten on Thursday, December 20th. There will be no spelling this week.
This week in science we continued our discussion about rocks and minerals. We are working on completing rock and mineral explorations. Many students brought in rocks to share with classmates for our exploration days. Students have five activities they must complete and six that are optional. We will be continuing these exploration on Monday and Tuesday of this coming week. On Wednesday we will be testing on this chapter. Student have their notes, textbook, and several homework assignments to use to help them study. They will also get a couple of note reminders on Monday, December 17th to also help with studying for this test.
There will also be a Social Studies test on Wednesday, December 19th.
Students will be finishing the novel Hatchet in reading this week. They will be taking the AR, Literacy Skills and Vocabulary tests.
