Please be sure to take attendance Tuesday - Friday. Thanks!
For the last week of school students will be working on any assignments they have not yet completed. There are also several optional activities in Google Classroom that students can choose from to work on throughout the week. Most of these assignments will post next week Tuesday. There are a couple that have already been posted. Just as in past weeks, I have a morning message that will post on Tuesday morning that will give students information about each day/activities as well.
This is a list of those optional actives so you also know some of the options students have to work on during the week:
Virtual Zoom Lunch 11:30 - 12:00: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: Students can come on to talk with classmates, talk about summer plans etc.. They can bring their lunch during this time too if they wish!
CPR: Usually in 5th grade, our district Nurse Asha Gregory, visits our room with a group of high school students to teach us about Hand Only CPR. She has shared several documents and videos that students can watch to learn about this important procedure.
MN State Park Field Trips: There are several MN State Park virtual field trips listed on a document for students to enjoy. We are hoping that, when again possible, it may spark an idea for a vacation to one of these great MN resources. The last trip listed on this document will take them on a exciting trip down the Mississippi!
19 -20 Memory Book(already posted): Since students did not get a chance to have each other sign their memory books, I posted a memory book that each student can create for themselves about 5th grade. I have already put some class pictures that I had in this document. Each student will have his/her own copy, so this will be their own memory book. The only thing that will be shared is the autograph pages. Your child has until Friday, May 29th to add his/her name, and a comment to the class before I copy and paste this document into each student’s book.
Writing Prompts(already posted): There are four writing prompt that I would love for student to complete. The first prompt is advice about 5th grade that I would be able to share with incoming 5th graders next school year.
Other Activities:
Pixel Art Activity: Related to our unit on Newton’s Laws of Motion. Create a pixel picture by answering each question.
Other Science Experiments to give a try
Google Maps: Learn about some place new
Quick, Draw: Students are given something to draw and the computer tries to guess what it is.
5 Clues Animal Guess: Play alone or with someone. There is a video of someone who gives 5 clues about an animal. See how many clues it takes you to guess the animal. You can use a point system if playing with someone.
Up Coming Dates:
May 25th: No School
May 29th: 1 /2 Day of School
June 1st: Material Return: There will be an email from Mrs. Schultz with more details in regards to this day. I will also send an email next week reminding students what materials need to be returned.
