You may have noticed that there was no weekly parent checklist sent via email this week. As a 5th grade team, we have decided to discontinue sending the form out for now. If the need arises, we will beginning sending it out once again. It was a very important communication tool at the beginning of distance learning, and gave us some great information. As always, please feel free to reach out through email any time with questions you may have. Many students have also done a super job of using zoom, email or public/private chat in Google Classroom when they have questions regarding an assignment.
In math we finished the week with a test on addition, subtraction and multiplication equations. On Monday students will practice two-step equations. On Tuesday we will move into our new chapter which will focus on Data Analysis.
In science we are continuing to work on Forces of Motion. This past week students submitted a video of them demonstrating a forces of motion. Their videos were very fun to watch! We have also been discussing magnetism, electricity and gravity. On Friday students used a website to experiment with the gravitational pull on other planets.
In social studies students began Chapter 10. This chapter will continue to focus on America’s fight for independence during the American Revolution.
This past week was the last week students will need to complete spelling assignments. If your child has turned in the April 24th assignment to Mrs. Snoberger, he/she has completed all spelling assignments for this school year. Students should also continue working on their famous person notes and outline.
Up Coming Events:
April 29th: Hat Day
Students can participate in theses activities at home, and also send a photo for the school slideshow if they wish.
May 1st and May 4th: No School: There will be no added assignments posted these dates. Students can use these days as “catch up” days if needed.
